I remember coming home from work one day, after picking Jenna up from her Day Support program. Both of us were exhausted. I opened the garage door, and stood there blinking my eyes. It took a moment for the reality of the water pouring out of the electrical socket to sink in. Thinking hmmmmm, yes just about where Jenna‘s bathroom would be upstairs. I rushed up the stairs and saw such a lovely sight. Jenna must have had a ginormous poop, and obviously would have felt much better. After flushing, and stopping up the toilet, it had run all day. The floor was covered in poop and what not. At this point, Jenna is now trying to enter the bathroom, laughing and signing “dirty” and saying “OOOOOO WWeee”. So I then get her to back out and I go into the bathroom forgetting to take off my one good pair of black shoes. Yes, I no longer had any good black shoes at that point. I got the toilet to stop running, plunged and cursed for half an hour. Of course the doorbell started ringing at that point, and didn’t stop. I was hoping to just ignore it, but Sweet Jen opened the door. Yep, a surprise home visit inspection from the company who oversees our home placement for Jenna. So there I am, covered in poo and what not, plunger in my hand, water now flowing out of the bathroom, and water still dripping from the electrical outlet in the garage ceiling. Guess I should have been more thankful that she didn’t see the box of wine on the counter. And all before 5:30pm.
